Cacio e Pepe

A proper Italian restaurant in the middle of Fira, with a wine-lined dining room and a menu of fresh pasta and Italian classics. A welcome change of pace if you have had your fill of Greek tavernas. A short drive up from Perissa, it is an easy, non-touristy dinner in town. The restaurant traces itself to an Italian chef who came to Greece in the early 1970s, opening in Mykonos and then in Athens before Santorini, and it works with ingredients of Italian origin, including cheeses and cured meats from Rome. Beyond the pasta there are handmade pizza doughs, focaccia baked in-house, Parma ham with melon and fillet with mushrooms and truffle. Tables can be booked by phone or online.
