Ancient Thera on Mesa Vouno

Climb to the Greco-Roman city that crowns the ridge of Mesa Vouno, directly above Perissa. The ruins string out along a high spine of rock, houses, an agora, temples and cisterns, with the black beach on one side and Kamari on the other. Go early, drive up from the Sellada saddle or hike from the beach, and bring water.
