A long-running family taverna in the inland village of Messaria, a short drive up from Perissa, serving Cretan and Greek home cooking to a mostly local crowd. Tables spill from a warm wood-beamed dining room out to a bougainvillea-draped courtyard, and the kitchen turns out generous grills and cooked-to-order classics at un-touristy prices.
